Tip: Use high-quality puff pastry for the flakiest results. Sweet and savory fillings can be alternated for variety.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles, depending on your preferred size.
- Add your desired filling in the center of each piece: cheese and spices for savory puffs or jam/chocolate for sweet options.
- Fold the pastry over the filling to create a triangle or rectangle, pinching the edges to seal.
- Brush the tops with melted butter for a golden finish. Sprinkle optional herbs or spices for extra flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool for 2–3 minutes. Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
Serving and Storage
- Serve immediately as a snack, appetizer, or dessert.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 24 hours. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore crispiness.
- These puffs can also be frozen before baking. Bake directly from frozen, adding 5–7 extra minutes to the cooking time.
